2014 Recess Rodeo

Our 2014 Recess Rodeo was a great success.  Students had the opportunity to practice recess games and playground equipment expectations with teacher guidance for a large part of the day.  We are glad it didn't rain and the clouds kept the temperatures quite pleasant.  Parkview students continue to model Parkview Pride by being Respectful, Responsible, and Safe on our playground. See our PBIS Celebrations page for pictures.

Parkview School Makes Pure Maple Syrup

Thanks to a grant from the Cedarburg Education Foundation, Mr. Keller and Parkview students and staff were able to experience the process of making our own maple syrup.  Mr. Ricky Knox, a Parkview parent and experienced maple syrup producer helped us learn the process.  We tapped trees on school grounds, collected sap, and ended up with wonderful pure maple syrup.

Parkview Bus Riders show Parkview Pride!

Last week I visited the Riteway Bus Company with another Cedarburg principal to explain PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports) to area bus drivers.  We explained the State PBIS system and our strategies for setting clear behavioral expectations, teaching those expectations, and rewarding students for being RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, and SAFE.  At the end of the presentation, I was very proud of our children when several bus drivers spoke up to say that they have noticed that the Parkview students are the best behaved students.  One driver mentioned that the riders always say thank you when exiting the bus. Another driver, who often drives field trip buses, said he drives for all of the area schools and Parkview students behave the best.  Great job Parkview!!

Congratulations Spelling Bee Winners!

From our Parkview Family:  We hope your Holidays were wonderful and we wish you health and happiness in 2014!

Dad's Club Spreads Holiday Cheer

Thank you to our Dad's Club and Parkview families for donating holiday meal baskets and Piggly Wiggly gift cards to six Parkview Families who have gone through difficult times in 2013.  Funds raised at the Tailgate/Chili event in December supported this project.  We also want to sincerely thank a very generous Piggly Wiggly employee for donating the groceries.
